It is helpful to us to note the following comments when bringing your machine in for
repair:
WHAT WE NEED
- Base Unit.
- All discs/CDs. Especially important are any system, restore or driver disks.
- In the event of an operating system re-install a valid Windows Operating System Licence. If you
do not have this you may be required to purchase one. A valid licence will normally be in the form
of a number on a sticker attached to the system case, or with an older Windows version, this may be
attached to the operating system booklet that came with the PC.
- For all laptops the external power supply is vital.
- IF your computer's BIOS is password protected please tell us the password. Otherwise your
service may be delayed why we try to contact you, or we may need to reset the BIOS loosing your
preferences in the process.
WHAT WE DON'T NEED
- Any cables/leads. We will provide cables for testing purposes. This ensures your own do not
get mislaid.
- Monitor. We will provide a monitor for testing purposes.
- Printer. Unless advised by a member of staff.
- Any other peripherals including keyboard and mouse, unless advised by a member of staff.
UPGRADES
We are willing to upgrade your machine. However, because of the ever changing market for PCs and
PC components it may be beneficial to buy new and then part-exchange your existing machine, so
please call us first. We will be able to advise as to the most cost effective solution.
